Dateline Minneapolis: 'Blame game is over'

Minneapolis' superintendent, its teachers' union president and two school board members flew 1,000 miles to Denver last week for an all-expenses-paid conference on labor-management relations. The U.S. Department of Education selected Minneapolis and 149 other districts that pledged to develop policies to improve education for the 3.8 million students they serve. Conference organizers, including Education Secretary Arne Duncan and the leaders of the nation's two largest teacher unions, put the work of education and union leaders from a dozen school districts on display.
