School changing to charter academy
Jefferson Elementary School is being turned into the K-8 charter school Jefferson Charter Academy starting next year after their charter proposal was approved by the state Board of Education in March. The academy will focus on making kids bilingual and biliterate in both English and Spanish and give them foundational skills for science.
