Bluffs teachers seek 8% increase

Teacher contract negotiations have begun in the Council Bluffs and Lewis Central school districts. Robert Hansen, chief negotiator for the Council Bluffs Education Association, said his union has asked for a total package increase of 8.02 percent. While the membership is mindful that the district has financial issues, Hansen said, "My goal is that teachers don't lose money out of pocket."
