Nearly 3,800 laid off DPS teachers called back to work
About 3,800 Detroit Public Schools teachers are being called back to work after receiving layoff notices. Recisions notices canceling layoffs and informing teachers to report for work Aug. 29 began to be sent Saturday and will continue to be mailed this week, said Keith Johnson, president of the Detroit Federation of Teachers.
