Column: School 'choice' is the straw man we've seen before

In Iowa, school “choice” has become a tired straw man. It’s trotted out and dusted off every year by a vocal contingent of state legislators, many of whom are homeschool or private-school parents. Education savings accounts, vouchers, and “options” are what Iowans really want, they would have you believe; they’re the only solutions to the challenges facing our state’s students and families.
