Blighted L.A. area will become home to state’s first public boarding high school

SEED LA aims to serve 400 at-risk high school students from South L.A. and around Los Angeles County, with a top priority of readying them for college. Admissions preference will be granted to students experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity, have family members in prison or have had engaged with the foster care system, child protective services or the county’s juvenile justice system.
